Starting Salary: Salary range $75,000-$80,000 annually
Position contingent on anticipated funding approval

Duties:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Projects, the Center for Excellence (CfE) Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in developing and leading the creation of the Center for Excellence for Evidence-Based Practice Implementation. The CfE will support implementation of evidence-based programs and promote the success of New York’s Family First Prevention Services Act, Prevention Plan. The Senior Project Manager will ensure that CfE planning and implementation activities are aligned and will work to ensure adherence to key performance indicators. The Senior Project Manager, housed within the Strategy, Equity and Advancement (SEA) department, will work closely with other key department and CfE staff. They will also supervise Project Coordinators and Regional Implementation Specialists, assigned to the CfE.

To successfully manage these responsibilities, the CfE Senior Project Manager must possess skills that would enable them to effectively complete the following duties:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, execution, and ongoing management of the CfE project, including drafting proposals, workplans, implementation and evaluation plans, and budgets

  • Lead project planning meetings, project updates, and project-specific reporting requirements, including creating project planning documents (including master project timelines and implementation schedules)

  • Track project performance using appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, tools, and techniques

  • Prioritize and manage multiple, competing project deliverables

  • Identify and distribute CfE communications to the appropriate external and internal audiences

  • Execute contracts with consultants, training providers, translators, and other necessary external partners

  • Identify project opportunities and challenges and make specific recommendations for process, quality, and project improvement.

  • Implement change management plans as identified

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direct supervision for staff supporting the CfE, including project coordinators, specialists, and consultants

  • Work closely with SEA Team to foster unified goals and vision between various project stakeholders and partners to create a culture of shared accountability

  • Work closely with the Director of Research and Policy to support data collection activities, develop resources to visualize patterns, and produce recommendations

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Project Management, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration, or closely related discipline. Master’s degree preferred

  • At least 3 years of demonstrably progressive project management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience supervising staff

  • Experience working with OCFS or other state partners

  • Knowledge of child welfare/child and family well-being systems, the Family First Prevention Services Act, and/or implementation and evaluation of evidence-based programs is ideal

  • Experience managing and/or supervising outside organizational partnerships

  • Well-developed analytical skills with an ability to synthesize complex information and apply it to strategic recommendations

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • A basic working knowledge of data analytics, interpretation, outcome analysis, and statistically driven recommendations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication

  • Excellent and demonstrated ability to build, foster, and maintain relationships

  • Proven ability to manage project outcomes

  • Commitment to teamwork and proactively fostering a collegial work environment

  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging with experience working with diverse groups and population

  • Intermediate-level computer skills required – including high proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project management software

  • A project management certification from PMI or a similar institute is a plus
