Duties:
The Information Systems Manager, under the supervision of the VP of Programs, and will have direct oversight of and responsibility for technology for the organization. They will be responsible for installation, maintenance and upgrades of all electronic devices used in the workplace. The position requires a high degree of independent and sound decision-making, as well as the ability to collaborate with YRI and NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) staff with hardware and software installation and upgrades of all electronic devices in the workplace. The ability to work with diverse groups and negotiate competing priorities is a requirement.  

The Information Systems Manager will carry out all duties and responsibilities listed in detail below. 

  • Support YRI staff with hardware and software installation and upgrades as well as implement and program computer networks and software  

  • Develop/maintain private intranet and public internet sites and maintain personal equipment requirements, as well as monitor network and digital security 

  • Be responsible for identifying and labeling all devices including servers, PCs, router, switch, wireless access points and any other network or IT infrastructure 

  • PIT support to training and events either on-site or remotely for any employees or managers who need assistance with operating and technology 

  • Develop/maintain a plan for disaster recovery preparedness and crisis prevention 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems or equivalent.  

  • Five years minimum information technology/business experience with three years of progressively increasing responsibilities.  

  • Three years microcomputer, data communication network management and project management experience.  

  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively in a complex, multi-entry, multi-cultural system and the ability to facilitate project management 

  • A proven track record of high performance managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.  

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organization skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. 

  • Computer literacy required, experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with non-profit social service and/or health care agency providing services under contract with the State of New York preferred.

Additional Information:

A valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
