Organization Information:

YRI training staff is responsible for developing, administering, and delivering training and learning opportunities and related activities for the full range of services for which the Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is responsible, such as child welfare, juvenile justice, childcare, adoption and foster care, youth development, and child and adult protective services.

Duties:

The ideal candidate will have experience managing education or training programs and coordinating their planning and implementation. The position requires a high degree of independent decision-making, the ability to make sound programmatic and fiscal decisions and effectively and closely collaborate with staff at the NYS OCFS. Requires an ability to work with diverse groups and negotiate competing priorities.

  • Provide day-to-day contractual support to YRI trainers and subcontractors conducting trainings for child welfare workers from across New York State.

  • Assist in analysis of needs assessments and evaluations. Make recommendations regarding scheduling, development or   revision of curriculum and materials and programmatic changes.

  • Assurance of the timely delivery and quality of training programs.

  • Assist with training registration, scheduling, and the processing of associated documentation.

  • Monitor progress of deliverables and troubleshoot as  needed.

  • Select and supervise consultants, subcontractors and vendors and manage those relationships.

  • Complete project-related documentation including correspondence, reports, and assessments. Assist with proposal development as needed.

  • Ensure project staff adhere to applicable policies, practices, and protocols.

  • Research and arrange for purchase of goods and services for program operation.

  • Supervise post-training support and assistance to trainees provided by administrative staff.

  • Communicate needs, concerns, and recommendations to the supervisor and OCFS liaison when appropriate.

  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university preferred. An Associate’s degree with four plus years of relevant experience will be considered.

  • 3-5 years of progressive responsibility for the administration/management of project deliverables/goals.

  • Experience with non-profit social service and/or health care agency providing services under contract with the State of New York a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively, efficiently, and professionally with colleagues and partner agency staff.

Additional Information:

A valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
